OUTDOOR LIVING URN

HOW IT WORKS

The Living Urn is complex in its design, but simple and easy to use.  Place your loved one's cremated remains in the BioUrn and add our proprietary RootProtect additive on top. Next, lower the roots of the young tree into our special BioUrn, add premium growth mix, and plant it in the ground. A beautiful, enduring living memorial will then grow up from the urn and the cremated remains to keep your loved one's memory present in your life!

STEP 1 SELECT YOUR LIVING URN

Decide on whether you'd like an indoor or outdoor living urn.

STEP 2 SELECT TREE OF CHOICE

Receive a young tree from us or simply pick one up at your local nursery. The trees should be no bigger than one gallon. If you prefer to use a tree from your local nursery simply purchase THE LIVING URN only.  Send us your choice of tree and we will tell you what grows best in your area.

STEP 3 SHIPPING & DELIVERY

We deliver/ship the living urn to the chapel or any other location that you desire. Living urn includes a bamboo case and the bio-urn. Bamboo case can be engraved and used as a separate planter.

STEP 4 PLACING THE REMAINS

Remove the BioUrn from the bamboo case and transfer the cremated remains into the BioUrn. Many families perform this step on their own, but you can also ask your funeral home or cremation service provider to help with this step if desired. Put the top back on the BioUrn and place it back in the bamboo case for safekeeping until you are ready to plant. The Living Urn has no expiration and only biodegrades once planted – therefore, you can store cremated remains in The Living Urn for as long as desired (weeks, years, etc.) prior to planting.

How Much of the Ashes Should I Use?

The Living Urn is designed to be used with as much or as little of one set of ashes, or cremated remains, as desired. It is large enough to hold all of the cremated remains and provide enough room for the additives and tree roots. We also have many customers that will plant a portion of the remains. This is the case when families split the cremated remains among siblings and plant multiple memory trees, or when people want to just want to keep some. Our instructions explain any adjustments to make when planting different amounts.

Does the Age of the Ashes Matter?

No, the age of the ashes or cremated remains has no effect.  Many families will plant cremated remains that they have had for many years with The Living Urn.
